Length Calculator

Use this very simple calculator to find out what length of ramp you will need.

Rise Required:
Type of Scooter/Wheelchair:

Ramp length is determined by the degree of rise required. We recommended that ramps should be no more than a 1:12 slope (this means 1 " of rise for every 12 " of ramp length). A 1:12 slope would be a 4.8° angle. However, a steeper rise is often perfectly acceptable. With care taken, a 1:6 slope (9.6° angle) is safe.

The longest Roll-a-Ramp we stock is 396.0 cm (13 ') long. However, these ramps can be easily combined to create a maximum length of 609.6 cm (20 '). A pair of Roll-a-Ramp centre support stands will be required.

If you are still unsure what length of ramp you require, please contact us.

Electric scooter / wheelchair

1:6 = Good (Only with portable ramps. Not suitable for modular ramps)
1:7 = Better
1:8 = Best

Manual wheelchair

1:10 = Good (Assisted. Only with portable ramps. Not suitable for modular ramps)
1:12 = Better (Unassisted)
1:15 = Best (Unassisted)
